The Donkey And The Wild Cock

Long ago a wild donkey and a wild cock lived in a forest. They were great friends. They used to meet and chat with each other very frequently.
Once when they were talking together, a lion passed by. Seeing the lion, cock flew up to the top of a tree and began to crow loudly. For he knew that the lion disliked the sound greatly, and wanted to annoy him. Highly irritated, the lion ran off.
The donkey was wonder- struck .he said to himself that if the lion ran away on hearing the crowning of a cock , he himself could kick the lion to death. So he ran after the lion, determined to kick him to death. Hearing a sound, the lion turned round, and saw the donkey rushing towards him. When foolish donkey was near enough, the lion jumped on him and finished him often a jiffy.

The Foolish Lion

Once upon a time, a hungry lion was wandering about through the forest in search of prey. After a while he saw a hare sleeping under a tree. The lion was delighted. He raised a paw to kill it.

It was then that an antelope came that way. The lion saw it. He knew that the meat of an antelope was tastier than that of a hare. Besides, the antelope was so much bigger than a hare, and would fill his stomach. So he left the hare and dashed after the antelope.

On hearing the noise made by the lion, the hare woke up and ran for his life
Though the lion ran fast, the antelope ran faster and quickly disappeared in the distance. Deeply disappointed the lion went back to the place where the hare had been sleeping. But when he reached there, there was no sign of the hare anywhere.
The lion realized how foolish he had been. He remembered the proverb his sire used to repeat often:”A bird in hand worth two in the bush.”

Moral

WE SHOULD BE SATISFIED WITH THE LUCK WE HAVE AND SHOULD NOT CHASE THE LUCK THAT MAY NEVER COME IF WE DO SO, WE MAY BE DISAPPOINTED LIKE THE LION.
